KCL Cattle Company Ltd.

About

Our Company

providing safe and sustainable food products since 1999.

KCL is committed to contributing to the beef and agriculture industry through innovation, hard work, risk management, and attention to detail. We believe there is no limit to what we can achieve with our team, and we always strive to show appreciation for our employees by focusing on a safe and healthy work environment, fair wages, and using our success to give back to our shared community. We are family owned and led and believe that the strong bond and values of the family are passed throughout the organization and are a large part of the success we can achieve.

We strongly believe you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with, and therefore we work closely with Vets, Animal Nutritionists, and other industry professionals. We also work collaboratively with other producers in the area - sharing ideas and gaining new insights. Most importantly, we have a strong team of people who help us achieve all our goals on a day to day basis.

Our Story

a southern alberta family with deep roots in agriculture.

Les and Lisa Wall began feeding cattle with a small group of animals at Les' father, George Wall's, feedlot. They grew their business, taking over the small Wall feedlot in 1996. In 1999 they had the opportunity to purchase a larger feedlot north of Lethbridge which is now known as the West Lot. In 2009 they expanded their operation further, purchasing the East Lot located east of Coaldale. In 2016 they had the opportunity to partner with a neighbor farmer and expand their land base. In 2017, they were able to get together with a group of producers and purchase a feedlot in Ceylon, Saskatchewan. In 2023, Beef City Lot was purchased north of Lethbridge expanding the business once again.

We here at KCL are proud to be family owned and operated. Les and Lisa, having worked hard to build the business for the past 20 years, are gearing up to pass the torch onto their children.  The strong bond and values of the family are passed throughout the organization and are a large part of the everyday operation of the business.
